On June 7th, 2014, I rode BART (rapid transit system for the San Francisco Bay area in California) from Union City to Embarcadero stations, and I took some pictures of the train arriving to the station at Union City only to be admonished over the P.A. once I boarded. Knowing full well what the laws and policies are pertaining to photography, I held the camera up in full view of the operator at Embarcadero station to see if she would raise the issue again, and when she did I informed her that photos were OK according to BART.gov, and that if she had any further issues she could summons an officer to speak with me.

The objective of this video is to demonstrate that not all operators may understand what their agency’s photo policy is, and that the best way to handle this situation is to inform them that it is permitted by law (and policy), move on and continue photographing.
